A small parenthesis to show you where is kept an original representation of Saint Etienne de Muret and his disciple Hugo de Lacerta. Tis piece with enamel is among valuable pieces preserved in middle age museumof Cluny, in center of Paris. It is quite important as it is a rare piece. It’s probable that this piece is the only existing of this type, coming from a church belonging to the religious order of Grandmont ; it was made in Limoge´s area (Center of France) place of origin of that order.
Grandmontain religious order was ending arround 1787 after the succes of the manipulations and influence of the bishop of Limoge whose only purpose was to put hand on the little fortune of the order.
Because of a fast developping at the beginning, construction of religious places were numerous but during a rather short time of history. But this was enough for Miradoux area has his Grandmontain site, but today water mill of Sainte Rose is the only building preserved on Miradoux´area. French territory has more then onje hundred sites a lot of them has been suffering a lot and look like ruins. Some of them are still preserved and maintained in good condition.
